"Dougs" - Golden Grove, SA

Picture
Dougs is a 5 yr old desexed male. DOB: 31/07/2015

Temperament:
Hasn't been around alot of dogs but was raised with pugs. Big bouncy boy when he plays, and forgets his size, so don't recommend little dogs. Raised around very young children with supervision. Don't recommend small children, because of his size as gets excited when playing. Not food aggressive and not destructive. Not worried about storms. Likes to travel in the car. Very wary of strangers and takes time to warm up to new people. Recommend supervision with strangers. Very gentle and a big loving softy with his family.
Dougs is undertaking some personalised training before he can be rehomed to help him adjust to having a new family and a new environment. New owners will have advice on helping him adjust to their home and how to continue is training in the future. This will need to be ongoing with his new owner.

Obedience training:
Walks well on a lead, halti, sits, stays, high fives and drops. Not to keen on coming back when off lead, so recommend long lead (no off lead exercise). Not crate trained.

Health: Vaccinated (03/09/2020), wormed, heartworm. weighs approx. 60kgs. No health issues.

Reason for rehoming
Owners moving interstate and housing restraints do not permit a large dog.

Price on application. This is a rehome assist by his breeder. You will be liaising with his breeder to see if you are the right home before anything else. You will also have breeder support ongoing.

NOTE:
Doug's will be available from the end of September after a few weeks of training. Any new owners should be experienced with handling a large breed dog, or be able to attend training with Doug's to help him settle in. He responds well to food rewards and positive reinforcement. He is a sensitive boy, who will need to feel comfortable with his new owners. Recommend an only dog house, or maybe with a desexed calm large breed female dog.

"Chev", Herston, QLD - ADOPTED

Picture
Chev, Herston, QLD
Age: 7 years (birthday was in March). Desexed male.

Temperament: Currently has a bit of separation anxiety after his owner had to suddenly leave the country. Has never been socialised with other dogs, so a home without other pets is required. He is shy when meeting new people but warms up. Not aggressive.

Training: He can sit, wait to eat, get on your bed. Currently trying to train him how to walk correctly on a lead (he hadn't been walked in over 2 years as the owner couldn't handle him) he is slowly getting there and with more training should be good on a lead. Was reactive towards other dogs, but he is now getting much better in that regard.

Health: Vaccinated, desexed, wormed etc. No known health issues. Weight is approx 60kgs

Reason for rehoming: His owner (a friend of the person looking after him) has had to move back overseas quite quickly. She had found him a home and they were meant to collect him. Desexed Male.
Temperament: Great with adults. Can be a bit ‘mouthy’ but has never bitten. Puppy tendency to chase/jump in backyard so need to watch around young kids. Was not properly socialised due to COVID restrictions so isn’t great with other dogs. Hard to tell if it's play, yard guarding, or aggression. Fine to be around with any food/treats toys. Will chew kids toys if left lying around but wouldn’t say he’s been destructive. May bark in the car, but getting better.
Training: Sit. Stay. Come. Drop (ball/stick etc). Walks ok on a halti. Will pull with collar or harness.
Health: Desexed, vaccinated, wormed, weighs around 40kgs at the moment. No known injuries or health issues.

If existing pets in the home, you will need to be experienced in the breed, and be able to separate until Maui has settled in and some training has been commenced. "Willow" Mudgeeraba (Gold Coast), QLD

Picture
Willow, Mudgeeraba (Gold Coast), QLD
DOB: 06/04/2018, 2yrs old. Desexed female.

Temperament: She can be aggressive with smaller dogs also larger dogs depending on the dog. Would suit being in an only dog home. Good with children no problems with my grandkids aged between 2 and 4 years old. She doesn’t like really strong winds and looks uneasy if it really windy, travels well in the car, to dog walks etc but hasn't been on any long journeys. Does not mind people on walks and has never lunged at anyone out in public. On my property she will be wary of strangers and put on a big show first but will settle if she feels comfortable with them. She has never bitten anyone.

She doesn't get along with an existing dog. Despite the owner having a behaviourist in, it was ok for a while, but she is unpredictable with him. As they have a couple of smaller dogs, and grandkids around, they feel that it would be safer if she found a new home where she is an only dog.

Health: Last vaccinated 25/06/2020. On worm/heartworm prevention. Weighs approx 46kgs. No injuries or known health issues.

Training: She will sit and hold a stay or wait position reasonably well
She will sit and wait till you tell her can eat her food
We did puppy and stage of dog training with Dietmar from Complete dog training on the Gold Coast

Microchip Number

"Bruza" - Gilead (Appin), NSW ** ON HOLD ADOPTION PENDING **

*** NO FURTHER APPLICATIONS TAKEN AT THIS TIME ***

Bruza was picked up from the pound by a lovely foster carer.

He is 18mths old and a cross DDB (possibly cross Rottweiler) but regardless, he is a large loveable boy. Bruza can be selective with which dogs he likes, so will need to have a meet and greet with any existing dogs prior to rehoming. If all goes well, we still recommend a period of separation whilst unsupervised until everyone settles in the home. UPDATE: Bruza went to a new home after being fine with existing dogs in a meet and greet. He subsequently didn't settle with them and was returned the following day. He will need to be an only dog OR have a period of separation and supervised interaction for quite some time.

Bruza is wonderful with people, he's a big lovebug who enjoys cuddles and trying to sit on your lap - if you want a snuggle buddy - he's your boy!

Bruza is NOT suitable for young kids, he can be mouthy and too excitable, and for this reason, we would recommend a home with children over 12yrs old.

Bruza LOVES water. So will enjoy having a pool of some sort to sit in.

Bruza is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Bruza is currently in Gilead (Appin) NSW and potential homes will need to travel there to meet him.

Cost: $440.

Microchip: 900079000346956

If you'd like to meet Bruza, please fill out an Adoption Application Form. If you have filled one out in the past, let us know and we can look it up. http://www.ddbrescue.com/rescue-application-form.html

"Rio" - Canning Vale WA *** ON TRIAL - NO FURTHER APPLICATIONS TAKEN AT THIS TIME ***

Picture
*** ON TRIAL IN A NEW HOME ***

Rio is a 1yr old female. She is small for the breed at approx 35kgs.

Temperament: Excellent temperament. Good with kids - has grown up with them. Has tested well with other dogs of similar size. She would need to have a meet and greet though with any existing dogs

She is not suitable to live with cats or around livestock (this includes chickens, sheep, ponies, alpaca, guinea-pig, rabbit) as her prey drive is high and this is one of the reasons for her surrender, she kept getting through the rural fencing and into the neighbouring property. She will need secure fencing such as super 6 or colourbond and a yard check will be included as part of her adoption.

Health: She is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. She has been de wormed and flea treatment while in care with us. She has mild hip dysplacia but is manageable with a joint supplement.

Currently in foster care in Canning Vale WA.

If you're interested in Rio, please fill out our Application From.

"Blue" - Pearcedale, VIC *** FOSTER CARER FOUND - NOT AVAILABLE ***

Picture
"Blue" 4yr old pure bred, pedigree Dogue de Bordeaux. Pearcedale VIC.
** FOSTER CARE NEEDED **

Blue has found himself surrendered to a pound. He hasn't had much time outside of his yard during his lifetime, and so will need someone who is willing to put in the time to train him and give him patience while he settles into your home.
Temperament: Blue is not suitable for a home with young kids. He has some health issues (see Health below), and as such needs a home with older children who will give him the space he needs. He is good with people. As he was very shut down in the pound, it wasn't fair to temperament test him with other dogs. Since then, he has shown that he may fence fight. As such, we recommend a home with no other dogs. Besides, we would love for him to be in a home where he gets all the attention he deserves.

Health: Blue has hip dysplasia. He does skip at times but is still very mobile. As he didn't have much exercise in his previous home, he has some muscle wastage around his hips. He would benefit from hydrotherapy, so gentle exercise to build those muscles up to help support his hips. We do not believe he will require surgery. Blue is also a bit 'iffy' about people touching his ears. He will tolerate it, but as a result of this, we recommend no young kids. Blue is up to date with his vaccinations and heartworm treatment. He will be desexed.

If you are able to foster Blue, and work with him, please get in touch. He will not be available for adoption immediately, however, we are open for someone to foster with a view to adopt.

Microchip # 941000017986399

To apply - fill out our foster carer application, specify Blue, and whether or not you would consider adopting him if he fits in with you. We also need you to be able to commit to foster care as we currently have no back up in VIC for him to go.
*his breeder is aware, however, they no longer breed and are unable to assist

She has no known fears. We recommend a home with no other dogs.
Health: Kali is desexed and microchipped. She is due for vaccinations. She is approx 50kgs and in good health.

She can become anxious if there are fireworks or yelling, so a calm household will suit her best. She can also get a little stressed being left alone all day, so needs someone home a lot. LOVES PEOPLE. Travels well in the car.

Training: Perfect when walking on a lead and harness, isn’t overly pleased with walking with just a lead and collar though but owner can supply her harness. She sits and stays, comes when called, has great manners. She prefers to be inside of a night time, though has been both in and outside trained.

"Nelson" - Gilead NSW (Appin)

Picture
Nelson is a 16mth old male. He is currently in kennels, and we would love him to go into foster care with a view to adopt him. He's a good boy that loves belly rubs and is very friendly. He's good with other dogs and kids although he can be a little too boisterous for very young kids. He may also be overwhelmed with dominant hyper dogs, so a calm dog would be a better match for him. He can be a little nervous in some situations.

Nelson is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and has no pre-existing health issues. He will need a patient and loving home to help him adjust to the big changes in his life. Microchip number: 900113000608250

Adoption fee: $440

*** Tia and Titan CANNOT be homed in a rural environment and are NOT suited to farm life. They need a secure yard with good fencing. ***

"Tia" - will need to be in a single dog home and with no young children. She prefers her own company. A home with someone who has large breed experience preferred.

"Daisy" - Kurnell, NSW

Picture
Picture
Picture

Daisy is a 17mth old girl who needs a new home.
Temperament: Daisy is very friendly and loving. She has grown up with a small child and is good around kids. Although as she is so big she often pushes them over which is scary for them but it’s not aggressive at all and more like she doesn’t know her own strength. She was aggressive with her food when she was a pup and we engaged a trainer to assist. This seems to have stopped although our rule is always to leave her alone when she is eating. She has been socialised with other dogs and is good with being introduced to new friends. Although she is sometimes more interested In their owners and getting attention from them which can cause issues for other dogs. She has recently started to pull clothes off the line and eats some things like towels and shirts. She will also dig holes in the backyard if she doesn’t get walked daily. NOTE: This is not the reason for rehoming her. This is typical adolescent behaviour which should be easy to rectify with some patience and training.
Obedience: Daisy attended puppy school when she was 12 weeks old. She also had two more in home training sessions when she was 20 weeks and 28 weeks old. This was to focus on the food aggression and strategies for walking on the lead. She follows basic instruction of sit and stay and walks well on the lead.
Health: Desexed. Vaccinated. Wormed. Approx 58kgs.
Price: $500.
Microchip: 982126050228874

Picture
Titan is an 8yr old DDB looking for a retirement home. He is good with other dogs and is currently living with 3 cats. He can be nervous during storms and gets a bit of separation anxiety so a home with someone home a lot would be ideal.

From his owner: "He's completely docile and placid ....our 1yr old walks up to him but he doesn't know his own strength and can be too excited but he knows to obey and stand back. He howls when he's left alone but will generally quieten down and has NO destructive behaviour i.e: digging holes or chewing on things. He is good with other dogs but we never had another dog for company. We rescued him 3-4 years ago and he has always behaved this way. We have had him boarded, he was in a shared kennel with a German Shepard and he enjoyed that dogs company for a weekend. He knows most commands also and is house trained."

Titan is desexed, microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations and worming. He has no ongoing health issues currently.

He is a private rehome, meaning his adoption will be handled directly by his owner.

Microchip Number: 953010003173024

Temperament: Winnie is nervous around kids, and has some aggression issues towards other dogs that she meets on walks. She seems to have short term memory issues, when family members arrive at our house, she forgets that she likes them.

Vaccinated, wormed, approx 30kgs.
Not suitable for a farm or near livestock.

"Ada" - Trafalgar, VIC

Picture
Ada is a 3 yr old girl who isn't coping in a 'busy' household. She will be 4 at the end of May. Ada is SPECIAL NEEDS. She has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (so will need to be on medication), and she is nervous during storms, and is overstimulated in 'busy' homes. She would ideally go to a home where someone is looking for a cuddle buddy, no young kids, and her being the only dog. Ada has also been diagnosed as having arthritic changes which may need ongoing management. Ada is also nervous during storms. However, we believe an experienced owner may identify which aspect is the fear, not reinforce the fear, and use a tool such as the thunder shirt to assist Ada in dealing with storms. Bottom line, Ada needs an experienced Dogue de Bordeaux (or Mastiff type) home who are happy to work with these issues.

If you think you may be the right home for Ada, please fill out our adoption application form and we will forward this onto her owner. TO APPLY CLICK HERE.

"Toast" - Sydney, NSW *** NOT AVAILABLE - SHE'S ON TRIAL ***

Picture
Toast is a 4 year old (20/01/2015) desexed female Dogue de Bordeaux X seeking a new home.

Toast is a big sweetie pie who loves cuddles and hugs. She is good with small dogs and meeting people, although can be shy. She can be intimated by large, rowdy or boisterous dogs, so if considering adopting as a companion for another dog, please be mindful and dogs with good manners and a calm demeanor are best suited. She has shown a tendency to food guard in the past so a home with experience and understanding is sought.

Toast walks on leash and can sit and stay. She is a strong girl. She can be a bit nervous during thunderstorms and around larger dogs.

Toast is vaccinated (19/11/18) and up to date with worm & flea treatments. She is around 56kg.

"Charlie" - Gymea Bay, NSW

"Mumma Bear" - Melbourne, VIC - FOSTER CARER FOUND

Picture
"Mumma Bear" needs foster care!

My name is Mumma Bear and I'm 5.5yrs old. I'm in Melbourne, VIC. I love people and older kids/teenagers, but I'm not sure of little kids, so a home with older kids is what I need.

I can be unsure of other dogs, so would like to meet them prior to going home with them.

They said I could have separation anxiety but then I was more relaxed when they tested me again. I am in a strange place with people I don't know, but maybe a home with people there a lot would suit me better than being alone all day.

Finally, I have hip dysplasia. I've lived with it for 5.5yrs, and I still like my walks, but this is something you'll need to keep in mind as I get older. If you think you'd like to have me at your place, please fill in a foster application form. And if you fall in love with me, you are able to apply to adopt me permanently!!

Foster application form: http://www.ddbrescue.com/fosterform.html

"Boston" & "Lola" - Herne Hill, VIC *** NOT YET AVAILABLE - PENDING

Picture
Boston (pictured left) is nearly 7 years old and around 60kg.
M/C: 956000008359584
Lola (pictured right) is 6 years old and around 40kg.
M/C: 956000003052965

Both dogs need a foster home with NO OTHER ANIMALS. They have been around young children (the owner has a 4yr old son) but do forget their size. Prefer a foster home with older dog savy kids 10yrs+ due to this. Dogs will require someone with large breed dog experience as will require training. They have not been on a leash in a while so will likely need to someone to refresh their manners and work on building a strong foundation. Both dogs have been outside dogs and do occasionally dig holes to lay in to keep cool. STRONG FENCING is a must!

Both dogs are healthy and the owner has noted no current or previous health concerns. They were last vaccinated June 2018.

Rescue will be looking to place in foster care for at least 6 weeks, to enable us to complete their remaining vet work and for the carer to re-train with basic manners. Foster Carers, if they wish, have the option to adopt but please advise us if this is what you wish to do.

"Barry" - Kidman Park, Adelaide, SA

Picture
“Barry” is a 3yr old desexed male. He is good with other dogs, recommend only calm submissive dogs as he can be apprehensive if rushed. Has not been exposed to cats. Can be wary of men initially but then settles. Has been good in a family environment. Being rehomed due to a change in family circumstances, no fault of his.

If you’re interested in Barry, please fill out an application form on our website and we will forward it to his owner. Local applicants only and will need to do a meet and greet with existing dog/s.

As with all new family members, we recommend a period of separation when unsupervised when you initially take on another dog, normally for about 4 weeks, to let the new dog settle into a routine and into your home. He has no known health issues. May be due for vaccination.
Barry is a big boy!

**** ON HOLD - HAS HOME LINED UP ****
"Nala" - Boerboel (African Mastiff) - Packenham VIC

Picture
Private rehoming assist - you will have to determine her suitability to your home.

Nala is 3yrs old. Desexed. Up to date with all vet work, worming and no injuries or ongoing health issues.
Temperament:
Has never shown any aggression under any circumstances. Not with humans or other dogs. Has not ever been around cats or birds so would not recommend a home with either. Has never been destructive, never chewed anything, likes to just lie around the house. House trained. Recommend kids be over approx 4ft tall as she can be excitable initially and wants to jump up for cuddles. Was initially shy of men when they first adopted her from the pound (18mths ago) but she soon warmed up to the men in the home. Has never tried to jump fences, although they have decent 6ft fencing. Walks well on lead. Loves car rides (jumps into the back of a Hilux happily to go for a ride). Not afraid of storms.
Overall a very calm and placid girl who just wants to be with you. As with any dog, never leave children alone with any dog, especially one this size. And if you have an existing dog, separation and supervision until she settles in is recommended. Would suit a home with another large breed dog. Although she has never tried to intentionally harm a small breed of dog, due to her size, she could accidentally harm one while being excited, she does like to do zoomies and chase a ball.
Local home preferred and a home check may be required.
Adoption fee is $400.
If you would like to be contacted by her owner
please fill out our Rescue Application Form.
Nala seems like an awesome dog and the owner is trying to do what’s best for her as his work takes him away a lot and she’s just not getting the human attention she craves.

*** ON TRIAL *** "Chops" - Bacchus Marsh, VIC - Brother of "Minnie"

Picture
Chops is just over a year old, and is a Dogue de Bordeaux cross. He and his littermate were surrendered together but would probably do better being rehomed separately. However, they are quite bonded so if separated, the new home would need to devote a lot of attention in helping them adjust.

No signs of aggression. They bark a lot and lack discipline. Both push the boundaries but Minnie obeys quicker. Chops barks and bounces. They are fence fighters but will settle down. They both desperately need some training and discipline. Most of this behaviour can be worked on. They are still very young.

Chops will be desexed prior to rehoming. Need foster care with a view to adopt.

"Xiena" - South Arm, TAS

Xiena is a 5yr old Bullmastiff. She is desexed. Xiena is looking for a new home in TAS.

Ideally with older kids as she's quite boisterous, and no other pets. Although she has lived with a Staffy who has now passed away, she has also gotten into an altercation with another dog. If you have an existing dog, it would need to be submissive and calm.

A meet and greet would be necessary to see how she reacts, and a period of separation in your home when unsupervised (should you adopt her), to ensure there are no injuries to either dog while she's settling in.

Xiena is free to the right home, but any applications will be thoroughly screened. To apply for Xiena, please fill out a Rescue Application Form and it will be passed on to her owner.

"HARLEY" - Hunter Valley, NSW

Picture
Harley is a 4yr old male, looking for a new home.
The good: He is a friendly boy with people and good with children. He has displayed no food aggression. He walks well on lead, sits, and has no current health issues. He is desexed and weighs approx. 50kgs.

The 'not so' good: He is an escape artist. He digs under fences, so a home where there is a secure pen or inside when you're not home is a MUST. He needs to be the only pet in the home. No cats, no small animals, no small dogs, no male dogs. He 'may' be OK with a female of similar size, but you'd have to test her with him prior to taking him, and have the ability to separate during feeding and when unsupervised for at least a few weeks until he settles in. Disclosure: he has escaped the current property and has killed chickens. He has also attacked a small male dog he was living with (the dog survived).

Cost: Free to a good home.

To apply for Harley, please fill out an application form. He is a PRIVATE REHOME, so we will pass his application on to his owner. You will be dealing directly with his owner.

10 month old Bordeaux x Mastiff (English) and is taking more after the English side. He is about the size of a Great Dane. He is very tall and will mature to a very large dog. He hasn't received any real training and can be boisterous, jumping on and at your face to get attention. He has done well with some basic training and will sit to come through doorways and sit for food. He is a very fast learner and just wants to please. Due to his size and puppy nature, he will not be suitable to be homed with young children under 13 years. "GUS" - Male DDB - Hampton Park VIC

Picture
Gus is nearly 8 years old. Gus is only suited to an ADULT ONLY home, no children. He may be suited to a home with a female dog, however, it would be best for Gus' recovery if he was the only dog in the home. Gus foster carer has reported that he is very sweet and affectionate. He is food motivated.

Behaviour assessment from LDH:
A Calm boy. Loves affection. Interactive with toys and people. Some light mouthiness but seems playful. Mild signs of stress when left alone and in current environment (kennels). He is fairly healthy for his age, with no radio-graphic signs of arthritis. He does have and is currently being treated for a chronic ear infection. He does not like his ears being touched and is becoming difficult to medicate in the shelter/kennel environment. It is painful.

Picture
3yrs old, private rehome (advertising for the owner)

Training: Can sit, stay, drop (sometimes), and leave. Understand outside and goes outside without an issue. Fairly easy to walk but does pull a little bit, particularly on main roads because she doesn't like the noise.

Doesn't like loud cars when she's walking. Scared of loud bangs or if you sneak up on her. Not destructive but has been known to eat her bed.
Health: UPDATED: Her anxiety has improved significantly enough to allow her to be removed from being medicated. She is desexed and up to date with vaccinations.

Picture
Ruby just had her 1st birthday on the 16th of April, and is looking for a new home. Great temperament, no aggression just gets overexcited when she sees you, needs more training. Walks on lead, sits, sort of stays :-) She is apparently good with other dogs, not sure about cats as she's never been around them, and great with kids (current owner has 6 of them), just very excitable so maybe older kids or if you're willing to put time into training her, it would work with younger ones. "Claire" - Noosa, QLD

Picture
Claire is a 6yr old female who is available for adoption. Claire has an irritable bowel condition so that will need to be maintained for life (definitely through a low fat diet and possibly also through medication). Claire has been good with other dogs (male and female), chickens and ducks according to her previous owner, however she has never been tested with cats, but it's probable she would also tolerate those.

Ruby is a great protector of her family and will notify us if someone is at the front door and in the back yard.

Picture
Max is a 5 year old pure Dogue de Bordeaux who was surrendered to the Dogs Refuge Home in Perth, WA.

Max is a gorgeous big teddy bear! He is a little overwhelmed with all the new faces at the refuge so appears a little hesitant in saying hello on first greet. Max is extremely strong on lead and would benefit from some training.

Max must be rehomed to a very experienced and confident dog owner and owners who have owned similar breeds in the past. He is a strong boy. Max does not cope well with a lot of exercise or the heat, he will need to live inside the house with his family, especially in hot weather.
I could live with dog savvy teenagers over 16 years.

Foo - Male - 20 months. Good nature and can be out with males if not dominant or aggressive, and similar with females - so if you have an existing dog, it has to be a submissive good natured dog. He is NOT good with small animals, cats, or birds/poultry.

He loves to talk to you when he's excited and happy.

He is food aggressive with other animals, but not with humans (so he will need to be fed separately).

He is a good guard dog, will bark when someone or something is around, and knows basic commands (sit, stay etc).

He is good with kids (but probably better suited for ages 5 and up). Pulls hard on lead so will need further lead training.

If you're interested in meeting "Foo" please fill out a Rescue Application Form CLICK HERE and someone will get back to you.

ADOPTION FEE: $380

"SAVANNAH" - Narangba, QLD *** SPECIAL NEEDS *** REHOMED JAN 2015

PictureSavannah
Beautiful Savannah is in need of a new home. She is a pedigree DDB, born 16/12/2009. Savannah had tummy issues, and as a result lost part of her tummy, so now can only eat Royal Canin sensitive stomach food, and no more than 600g per day (food costs about $115 and lasts over a month). She cannot have treats or any other food as it upsets her tummy.

Savannah has been living with children and a cat with no issues, and she is good with some dogs. You'd need to do a meet and greet with any existing dogs in your household.

Savannah is trained with both voice and hand signals.

Savannah is only a little girl, weighing just 35kgs.

Price: $neg

If you think you may be interested in adopting Savannah, please fill out our Rescue Application Form (
NOTE: a 'yard check' is part of our adoption application process).

"Brandy" - Rockhampton, QLD - REHOMED JAN 2015

Picture
Brandy is a 6-8mth old Dogue de Bordeaux cross who was surrendered to the pound by her owner.

She is located in Rockhampton, QLD, has been desexed and is available for a new home.

She is now crate trained, can be a fence jumper, and barks at cats. She is good with other dogs, but can be a bit of a 'pain' because she likes licking their faces so a tolerant existing dog would be required. She can be a bit grouchy if another dog tries to eat her food, but has no food aggression with people.

She is still a young girl who will do well with ongoing training.

If you think you may be interested in Brandy please fill out the 'Rescue Application Form'

Price: $350

"Annie" and "Maisie" - Wildes Meadow (Southern HIghlands), NSW - REHOMED JAN 2015

PictureAnnie
Annie is a 8 or 9 yr old that the family rescued, and Maisie is a 4yr old pedigree girl (with papers).  Their owners are going overseas for several years, and are unable to take them with them. They would love to home them together but will consider separating them.

Maisie good with cats, people, but not children. Has food aggression with other dogs, but doesn't compete with Annie.

Annie, gentle and bit deaf, bit blind. Good health. They are bonded like mother and daughter even though they aren't related. They bought Maisie to give Annie a friend.

OBEDIENCE: Maisie good on lead. Will sit. Annie happy to lie in the sun and have a little wander down the lane.

Both are worried by storms and are usually put inside when a storm approaches.

HEALTH:
Both are vaccinated, desexed, wormed and in very good health.

PRICE: the owner is willing to let them go free, but a donation to rescue (whatever you choose) would be appreciated.

"THEO" - Sunshine Coast, QLD

Picture
Theo is a 1 year and 4 month old boy who is Microchipped, wormed, vaccinations are up to date, and will be desexed.

Theo is an over excited loving boy but it's not good with pocket pets, small dogs and cats due to his size and  "over playfulness ".  He needs a home where he is an only dog, or with a dog of similar size.

Theo is fine by himself outside and alone  and has no issues with storms or any other fears.

Theo is good with kids but can be a jumper, which makes him unsafe to be unsupervised in case of him knocking them over, so a home with kids over 10 is a must.

Theo loves the outdoors and playing with water. He has had obedience training, but does need more work. walks on a leash well and has  no food allergies.
He sometimes doesn't agree with where the washing is on the line and likes to remove it.

If you think you may be interested in Theo, please fill out our rescue application form and someone will get back to you.

"VADER" - Sydney, NSW - ADOPTION PENDING

Picture
This is Vader, and he's about 9mths old. His family feels he doesn't suit their lifestyle and that deserves a home that can keep up with him. Let me elaborate....

Vader is a very active dog, and needs a lot of exercise. He is also not very happy being left for long periods of time by himself. So the perfect home would consist of someone who is willing to take him for long walks and someone who may work from home/home a lot, or where he has another dog to keep him company.

Vader has been living with 2 toddlers and he is very good with them, so kids should be ok.

He does get a little worried meeting new dogs when out and about, but he is not aggressive, and being young, I'm sure he will be able to assimilate into a home with an existing dog, particularly if you are experienced with large breeds, and keep on top of his training.

We don't know what he's like with cats, rabbits, livestock etc.

He is currently in Sydney, NSW and is desexed. He is up to date with everything else, and can go into a new home immediately.

*** ADOPTION PENDING - NO FURTHER APPLICATIONS PLEASE ***

"MAX" - Ballarat, VIC - ON HOLD - ADOPTION PENDING

Picture
Max (4yo) is a calm well behaved boy, but doesn't appear to have much lead training, so that's something that will need to be worked on.

After vetting, he may have mild entropian, but not bad enough to warrant surgery, and also some allergies.

He's only just come into care so is still being assessed in regards to other dogs etc, but his previous owner stated he got along with other dogs, just wanted to play. He will chase cats, but previous owner thinks it's only because he wants to play, and they run off. He came from a family with children.
