"Hooch" - Narre Warren, VIC
Hooch is approx 4 years old. He does have some issues so a person who is patient and who will work with him would be ideal.
Temperament: Hooch would probably suit a home with no other dogs. Although he has been okay with some dogs, he is currently living with a female that he's bullying and not getting on with. He does have some fear of storms, thunder, fire works and loud bangs. He panics and try’s to find a corner to curl up in and shakes.
Training: He can sit when you ask, but isn't lead trained. He is very pushy, sweet pushy, but really has no manners. He was obviously never trained as a puppy and he was rescued by his current owner in very poor condition.
Health: Desexed. Vaccinated. Wormed. Heart worm treated. He weighs approx 45kg. He does have hypothyroidism, and does need medicating.
Microchip Number: 900164001790423

"Nala" - Melbourne, VIC - ON TRIAL
Nala is a 3yr old girl, DOB 2/11/2020. She is a Dogue de Bordeaux x Bullmastiff x Neapolitan Mastiff.
Temperament: Nala has been raised in a household with children, cats and another dog. She is very good around kids, although sometimes a bit excitable and doesn't know her size. She gets along well with other dogs of any size, and plays well. She likes cats but they are often scared of her and run away from her, and then she chases them, thinking it's a game. Sometimes she growls when her dog friends go near her food, but has never done anything other than growl as a warning. When other dogs have growled at her over a bone or toy, she leaves it and moves away.
Overall, Nala is great in all situations. She is good with visitors, in storms, travelling in the car. She will often bark when someone knocks on the door, but settles down quickly. She is a bit fearful of heights, and doesn't do so well getting in & out of the car/boot. We help her up. :-)
Training: Nala has basic obedience training. She will sit and drop. She sits and waits to be given command to eat. She is crate trained for sleeping at night. She has had basic walking on lead training. She is a quick learner, and learns best with treats and rewards.
Health: Desexed, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm treated. Nala weighs approx 54kgs. She sometimes gets skin allergies.
Nala is being rehomed through no fault of hers. Several family members are allergic to her, and her main caregiver had an injury which prohibits the ability to meet her needs.
Microchip Number: 991003000928105
Price: $400 (will be donated to rescue)

"Peggy" - Western Sydney, NSW
Peg is a 3yr old girl (DOB 11/07/2020) which is looking for a new home.
Temperament: Peg is a great dog. She’s ok with children over 10yrs old. Pretty calm generally. She doesn't have any known fears of storms/cars etc. She does 'nip/mouth' for attention which is why she is unsuitable for a home with young kids. She will need ongoing training to break her out of this habit.
Other animals/dogs: She enjoys some dogs. She doesn't live with another dog though so prefer for her to go to a home with no other animals. Would consider a home with an experienced owner that will separate her from any existing dogs (of similar size) for a week or so until she settles in, has built some trust with her new 'humans' and both dogs are used to having the other there. Will not consider a home where this initial separation can't be managed for her and any other dogs safety.
Training: She has been trained on lead and walks well with a strong leader.
Health: Desexed, up to date with vaccinations, wormed, heartworm treatment. She's not a large girl weighing approx 40kgs. No known health issues.
Microchip Number: 991003000797737
Price: Donation to rescue.

Note: she is a private rehome, so any applications will be sent to her owner.

"Cupid" - Coomera, QLD
Cupid is a 3yr old girl in urgent need of a home (either temporary or permanent). DOB 21/05/2020.
Temperament: Cuddly girl who loves to sleep in bed with humans, she cries and has anxiety when left alone for long periods of time and will scratch at fence/door. She loves her food and will sit and stare with puppy eyes to get more food. Is afraid of storms and water.
Existing pets: From her owner: My parents have a dog (a Dogue x Staffy) who is 8 (almost 9) years old. She loves playing with him, but with his age, he has health issues and after short plays, he will get over it whereas Cupid will keep playing and annoy him. When told no more play/enough, she stops and walks away. She stayed with my neighbours and wanted to play with their dog (Staffy) the entire time but he humps any and all dogs and she did not like this so they were separated.
She is not too fond of small dogs (around same size of a Maltese) as she has never really been around them and she's never been around cats while I have had her. She does not like possums (seen at night time), so I am not sure how she would go with a cat/would depend on their temperament.
Children: Cupid has been around kids (4, 5 & 9) with sensory issues, ADHD and autism. She is great with them. She knows to give them space when needed. If both girls were heightened, and running around chasing each other laughing and squealing, Cupid gallops around like a horse in excitement and there have been times where she has knocked them but instantly noticed and would lay down beside them to make sure they were okay. She has also been around a 1yr old, and she would give her kisses and smell her but then just sit and wait for a pat.
Training: Sits, lays down, heavy on lead but working on it.
Health: Desexed, vaccinated, wormed. Smaller girl being 30-35kgs. No known health issues.
Reason for rehoming: Owner had an urgent change of circumstances.
Price: Donation to rescue.

"Sweetie" - Campbelltown, NSW
We don't know her name, so we will refer to her as "Sweetie" :-) because that's exactly what she sounds like, a sweetie. She is 5 yrs old (DOB 18 May 2018).
PLEASE NOTE: We are looking for a foster with a view to adopt. Given her current temperament, we think it's in her best interest not to be 'shuffled' from home to home, so it's imperative you are honest with us about your environment and think seriously if you are willing to commit to at least several weeks with her in your home to give her the time she needs to decompress and trust you.
NEEDS:
- Calm & quiet environment. So any kids should be aged 10+yrs and no 'over the top' exciteable existing dog. She is shy/timid and flinches at loud noises. She lacks confidence and will need time in a calm, quiet environment to gain confidence and trust in her new home.
- She is showing a sensitive temperament in the pound environment. Has low energy needs. Shy/timid but agreeable and affectionate.
- She loves treats and takes them gently.
- She doesn't like toys, she's scared of them. She may come to like them when she's more confident.
- She doesn't resource guard and doesn't jump.
- Dogs: She displays little or no reaction when meeting other dogs. HOWEVER - we don't recommend she taken into a pack' environment. 1 calm existing dog may be OK. If you do have a calm friendly existing dog, introductions/interactions would need to be slow due to her lack of confidence. We would recommend a period of separation when you first bring her home. She needs to gain trust in her new 'people' so that she won't be worried she will be harmed. I wouldn't just put her in with an existing dog without a barrier initially until they both are used to having each other there.
- Other animals: Unknown. Has not been tested with cats/smaller animals
- Yard: Secure fencing. Although a med-large size yard is preferred, she seems to be low energy so probably won't need a lot of space to run around, particularly if you intend on walking her. Currently, when left alone in kennel she sleeps a lot and she is very quiet.
I would wait a few days before walking, given her current temperament. It may be too overwhelming going out into the 'world' before she trusts the person on the end of the lead. She does walk OK on a lead, can pull a little. She knows how to sit.
HEALTH: other than being underweight, she appears to have no other health issues going on. She has tested heartworm negative, and other vet checks have not identified any other issues. She will need more frequent smaller meals initially to slowly bring her weight up. Once in a normal weight range, it is always recommended to give 2 smaller meals a day than 1 big one. This breed is prone to bloat, so smaller more frequent meals should be the norm.
Post adoption training would be advisable to assist with her lack of confidence would be beneficial after she has a little bit of time to settle in. Initially, it's all about ROUTINE. The same routine initially will help her gain confidence as she will know exactly what's happening next.
She would be a great companion to someone who is home alot, or a part time worker.

Zeus - Bayswater, VIC
Zeus is 22mths old. DOB 26/08/2021. He is a Dogue de Bordeaux x Neapolitan Mastiff.
Temperament: He is very good with people. A lovebug, and behaves like a really big puppy. He's too boisterous for little kids, as he 'mouths' while playing which isn't ideal with little kids. Ongoing training will be needed to alleviate this habit.
Training: Very good with food. Will sit and wait until you say eat. He was crate trained previously. He will sit and shake. Should do well with ongoing training. He can be a bit destructive if left home alone - but that may be due to his current situation. He has had positive interactions with other dogs, but he seems to be reactive on lead to other dogs. Again, we believe he will do well with ongoing training and time.
Health: Desexed. Vaccinated. Wormed. Weighs approx 50kgs. No known health issues.
Home requirements: No young kids. Careful introduction to existing dogs, and supervised interaction for a while (we usually recommend several weeks while he settles in).

"Arnold" - Maryborough (Fraser Coast) QLD
Arnold is a 2yr old DDB x DDB/Mastiff. He needs a new home through no fault of his own.
Temperament: Arnold has a wonderful temperament! Arnold has been raised with kids from toddlers to teens, cats and chickens that free range with him. His first year of life he had a female daschund as a companion until she passed away. He has been well trained around food and has no food aggression, the chickens would even eat out of his bowl. Able to remove any food/bones from him without any issues at all. He does not dig, pull washing or chew incessantly. He does like plastic pots or small plastic items like kids toys but we always put them up. We have found a great brand of rubber toy he can’t chew through and he loves these a lot. He doesn’t have any fears. He doesn’t like getting into cars only because he hasn’t done much of it but once I get him in he is calm and enjoys the ride with his head out the window.
Training: Arnold was crate trained as a puppy although living on property he hasn’t used on in a while. He did a puppy training and socialization class. He knows sit and down, to wait for a command before eating, come and leave it. He isn’t lead trained.
Health: Arnold is desexed and up to date with all vaccinations. He weighs approx 65kgs.

"Leni" - Leopold, VIC
Leni just turned 2yrs old (DOB: 18/08/2020), and so she's going through the stage in life where she needs training, time and patience. This is usually a 'rebellious' stage.
Temperament: Leni has a very friendly (a little too friendly sometimes) and loving nature with an extreme amount of energy. She would be best suited to a family with older children and as an only dog. If bored, she can dig and destroy things, so a person who is home alot is preferred. She has started getting abit aggressive during feeding time with our older female dogue.
Climbs onto the bench to get food. Leni is scared of storms and will hide and cry. Leni has the potential to be an amazing dog with the correct training and environment. She is extremely sweet and loves lots of attention. She is too boisterous for young children and will knock them over.
Training: She is very strong and can be hard to walk at times but once she’s tired she’s great. She sits when told. Leni is house trained.
Health: Desexed, vaccinated, wormed. No known health issues. Leni is only a little girl weighing in at approx 40kgs.
Microchip Number: 956000010906662
Price: $400

"Narla" - Erina, NSW
"Narla" is 4yrs old (DOB 24/05/2018), and has some health concerns.
Narla has a gorgeous nature and is super friendly with everyone that she meets. She has fabulous manners when she meets other canine friends. She is currently being held at an Animal Shelter while we attempt to find her foster care placement. She has been at the shelter since 22/12/2022, so her situation is coming urgent.
