This is a page as a tribute to those we unfortunately could not save. Their stories are important.
RIP - may you all run pain free.

"BAXTER" - QLD
Baxter was epileptic and blind in one eye, so the odds were against him from the start. He was rehomed with a family in QLD, and subsequently returned to rescue. He then finally found a family who loved him, despite having to live through watching his seizures. Baxter was only there for a few short weeks before he had a massive seizure and passed away.
Baxter was a very special loveable boy. Those who had the pleasure of meeting him, had their hearts quickly won over. People who continue breeding with dogs they know have epilepsy in their lines is disgraceful (Baxter was purchased from a registered breeder). They don't realise the hearts that get broken in the end, and the poor suffering the pups go through. RIP Baxter, you were loved.

"Sherrie" - DDB
Unfortunately, Sherrie had to be euthanised to due health problems.
Sherrie's health was due to poor breeding practices. Her conformation was so poor that it was putting stress on her internal organs, as well as her spine. She had issues in both shoulders, pasterns, an elongated soft palate and had trouble picking up food with her jaw being incorrect.
It is so important to meet parents if possible and view the property of breeders. Sherrie was purchased from a registered breeder. It is important that they give you a health guarantee. It is important that they give you a contact phone number so if there are any problems you can contact them (and they take your calls!). Yes we rehome dogs with health problems sometimes, some that can't be fixed, but if you are in the market for a puppy - please do your research so that you don't end up with a dogue like Sherrie, who deserved to live a pain free life, and didn't deserve to be born with such huge problems, that she lived for 4 years in pain before being dumped on another family who had to make the heartbreaking decision to release her from her pain. RIP Sherrie. A lot of people really wanted to help you, but we just couldn't fix everything even if we tried.
