"MINX" - Approx 2 yr female - VIC
Well not one 'we've' rehomed but we did help :-) Minx was at 'Animal Aid' in Coldstream. The shelter handled the rehoming, but asked for our help to find suitable applicants to adopt her.
She was dumped at a truck stop, and very timid. It took a couple of weeks for someone to be able to get her and transport her from where she was left. She has now settled in, and is much happier accepting people.
She was apparently good with other large dogs, needed a home without young kids, cats or small dogs.
Lydia (very big thanks!!) went and met her and took some photos, and reports are that she is a lovely sweet girl, so should be a wonderful companion to anyone who decided to adopt her.
Minx found a home in Jan 2013, after months of trying and after she had a litter of puppies at the shelter. The puppies have also found homes.
Minx was adopted by some wonderful people who had a nice calm 11yr old Labrador, and they are getting on wonderfully. Good luck in your forever home Minx, after all you've been through, you deserve a happy ending.
We at DDB Rescue, and the staff at Animal Aid are thrilled for Minx. This was one little lady we are happy to see finally find her forever home.

"RANGER" - Perth, WA - REHOMED
Mastiff x DDB. His kennel mate was rehomed some time ago, and now Ranger has finally found someone to take him into their home. Ranger is on trial and we have our fingers crossed it all works out for him.
"RILEY" - QLD - REHOMED
Riley (2yrs old) was being rehomed as her owner was no longer in a position to give her the home she needs. She was up to date with her shots, in good health and is desexed.
A lovely girl who gets along with other dogs, cats and kids. Her only thing was that if she is left somewhere new, she tends to try to escape/dig the first day or two, but after that she's fine (which is like most dogs anyway). She was sold as a purebred but has no papers.
Riley found a forever home.

"UTAH" - WA - REHOMED
Utah, was a 7 year old (2.4.05) pure Dogue de Bordeaux Male. He is a gentle soul and just enjoys spending time in your company. Unfortunately, he has been surrendered due to changes in his owners circumstances and as a result, has started jumping their fences looking for more enjoyable adventures. He is good with other dogs and is a pretty laid-back and affectionate character. Although he has not grown up with kids we are told he is gentle while around them. He is still active for his age and will do well in a home either with another dog for company or with someone who works part-time.
"DIO" - WA - REHOMED
Dio was rescued from a pound. He had a skin condition which his new family took care of. He's now not getting along with their male Rotti, and they think it's best he go to a new home. He is great with people and kids, just the extent of his dog aggression hasn't been determined. May be ok with submissive females. Dio is desexed.
"GUS" and "LILY" - WA - REHOMED
Gus and Lily were surrendered through no fault of their own. The facility that received them contacted us to take them for rehoming.
Gus and Lily are brother and sister, date of birth 16 April 2007 and are pedigree dogues (have canine council registration papers). They are available to be rehomed together or separately.
Gus and Lily went to a lovely home together in Victoria. We wish them a long and happy life.

"Simba" - REHOMED
Simba is on trial in a new home.
Simba was 13 months old when surrendered in Jan 2012. Simba has allergies, and his owners were unable to keep up with the treatment to get his skin better, and so surrendered him to rescue to find him a home with someone who could devote the time to manage his skin. Simba also needed to go to a climate which was cooler than where he was living to help his skin. Simba is now on trial in Tasmania with Letitia and her family, and we hope it works out well for them.

"Kujo" - REHOMED
Kujo was surrendered to DDB Rescue in 2011, and was fostered by Brendan & Georgia at Amoureaux Bordeaux in VIC.
After his vet work was done, Kujo was rehomed with a young couple who found that they weren't in a position to keep him, and so he was returned to rescue.
Kujo was quickly rehomed with Steve & Gen, who had not long before lost their previous rescue dogue from us, Bella. Kujo has filled the void that Bella left, and is a much loved member of their family.

"Tex" - REHOMED
Tex was surrendered to us in 2011 due to an unfortunate change of circumstances for his owner. Poor Tex had been a victim of circumstance twice in his life, as we also managed to contact his first owner who had him until he was 2 years old. Tex was fostered by Leanne & Shawn at Bellarouge Bordeaux.
We were able to determine Tex was already 8 years old, and so it was going to take a special person to take on a dogue of this age.
We did find that special someone, Giselle. Tex went from his foster home in Sydney to Victoria, and into Giselle's home, where he fit in like he lived there his whole life there. He was gentle with her other dogs, cats and most importantly, her young son.
Sadly, Tex only spent a few months with Giselle, until he was given his wings. Rest peacefully Tex, you touched a number of lives in your short time with us.

"Zack" - REHOMED
Zack was found in a pound in QLD in 2011. DDB Rescue took him in and he was fostered by Kylie & Keith in QLD.
After his vet work was done, we ended up finding him a wonderful new home with Kristjian and his family.

"Rory" - REHOMED
Rory found herself surrendered to a WA pound in 2011 due to her skin problems, most of which stemmed from the fact that she was not desexed, and so each time she came into season, her skin would flare up again.
Rory was kindly fostered by Amanda in WA, who fell in love with her, and so Rory became what we term a 'foster failure' - meaning that her foster carer loved her so much, she adopted her, much to our delight.
Rory is now a much loved member of her new family, and as you can see from her photo, since desexing, her skin has improved dramatically.

"Cassie" - REHOMED
I was contacted by a pound in QLD in 2011 regarding Cassie. She was deemed 'dangerous' and they were going to put her to sleep. Natasha (Bronzantiq Bordeaux) went to the pound for us and temperament tested her. She passed. Natasha then fostered her briefly and brought her down to Sydney for us to rehome.
Another lovely foster carer, Dru, stepped up to help as it was during Easter as many of us had commitments and were unable to hold her.
During this time, a lovely family came to meet Cassie on Easter Sunday, and took her home with them. Cassie is now enjoying life on the NSW Central Coast.

"Buddy" - REHOMED
DDB Rescue was contacted in 2011 by someone who had purchased Buddy, but due to a change of circumstances, could no longer care for him. They surrendered him to us, and we had his vet work done.
We found a wonderful home with Sonya and her family, where he is very loved. Buddy passed away in 2012 due to kidney failure. RIP Buddy.

"Raff" - REHOMED
Raff we found at Blacktown Pound in 2010. We were actually called about another Dogue, but whilst there, we spotted Raff. The staff said he had 'deformed legs' and was going to be put to sleep. We intervened, and said that we would take him (the other one went home by the way).
We arranged for him to go into foster care with our friend, Ryan. Raff soon became what we term a 'foster failure' - meaning that his foster carer loved him so much, he adopted him, much to our delight.
Raff's legs are not 'deformed' - they are the result of poor nutrition as a puppy. It is important that these giant breeds are on a high quality diet during growth, or this can happen. Raff is still quite active, and his legs don't cause him any problems despite their appearance.
Raff is a much loved member of Ryan's family, which now includes a second dogue, Slade, purchased from a reputable breeder.

"Bella" - REHOMED
Bella was rehomed in 2009 with Steve and Gen. She came into rescue very skinny, in season, had a rotten tooth, a wrinkly ear, and some lumps. Rescue put some weight on her, had all her vet work done, and found a loving home for her.
Sadly Bella passed away in 2011, but had almost 2 wonderful years with a couple who loved her very much.

Fortunately he found a new home.
"Maddie" - REHOMED
_Maddie’s owners
were moving to the city and put her into foster care so she could find a nice
home in the country. A new home on a country farm in NSW was found for Maddie.
"Barney"
Although this page is titled 'Dogs we've rehomed' - I've kept Barney here. Barney was sadly euthanised due to temperament issues. We did try to sort these out, but we could not with good conscience place him in a home where he may have attacked someone. We rarely get a dogue through that does have temperament issues bad enough to euthanise, however, it does happen, and we must make heartbreaking decisions. RIP Barney, I hope you are in a happier place.
REHOMED
This young lady found herself at Hawkesbury Pound. Sadly her owners didn't find her. She was in good condition so we were very surprised she remained unclaimed. She found a good home.
